The Area

THE REGION
The property is located in the Creuse department of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine
region. Known as the land of a thousand lakes, the area is popular with all
lovers of the outdoors.


THE VILLAGE

Situated in the centre of the small village of Noth, here are some of the
amenities within walking distance;
- Cazinoth restaurant: superb budget friendly local restaurant
- Château de la Cazine: high-end hotel and restaurant, currently
undergoing significant development to build a spa centre and golf
course

THE LOCAL TOWNS

Guéret (20 minutes) is the prefecture of the Creuse and the most populated
commune. As a market town, Guéret has an excellent local food market, full
of fresh produce from the farms in the surrounding area and is on a Thursday
and Saturday morning. You’ll find all the major stores in Guéret as well as a
good choice of eateries. The closest hospital is in Guéret. For routine medical
appointments, the nearest doctor and dentist are in La Souterraine.


La Souterraine (10 minutes) is the 2nd biggest town in the Creuse with 4
supermarkets as well as a farmers market twice a week. There are also a
number of independent stores / boutiques, a DIY shop, many restaurants and
cafes and a sports complex. A good choice of schools is available for children
of all ages, there is a cinema showing regular English language screenings
and there is also an English / French library offering courses for non-native
speakers.


TRANSPORT LINKS
The house is easily accessible by road, being 2 minutes from the RN145 dual
carriageway, which is a major East / West route and 15 minutes from the A20
motorway, which is the main North / South artery through France.


With excellent rail links from La Souterraine and Guéret, you can get to Paris
in under 3 hours.


The closest international airport is in Limoges.
